The wonderful Balearic coast makes this Mediterranean zone a wonderful paradise for sailors that come from all around the world to enjoy our nice calm sea and the great views from our landscapes, full of coves and anchorages. There are lost of routes that you can follow with a sailboat around Balearic Islands that will make your stay in Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza or Formentera an unforgetable experience. Here, we'll give you some information on the routes you can follow.

As it is and archipelago, Balearic Islands have ancient tradition on sailing across the sea, either to go to the peninsula or visit other countries or hosting some important well-known competitions from Spain and International ones, such as, some trials from Breitling Cup, Copa del Rey, Reina Sofia or the Conde de Barcelona Trophy for ancient ships.

Spanish Royal Family are great fans of nautic sports that practise every summer during their holidays in Majorca and they even participate in some trials among the crews of some national boats. King Juan Carlos or Prince Felipe are some of the usual participants every summer in this kind of competitions.

In Balears, we have some nautical tradition, which makes that all around the island we have lots of Nautic Clubs where you can see lots of sailboats or people sailing across the coast. We also have some nautical schools where children learn how to sail with little sailboats, try to learn orientation and making friends.

Majorca and Balears attracts sailors and boat crews for many reasons:

- The climate. Spring and summer are wonderful seasons when you can enjoy your favourite sport or watching other people practising it. During the months of September to October and January to May the climate is mild and agreeable, veritable spring weather,a typically Mediterranean climate which contrasts sharply with the Central European climate, where rain, snow and intense cold spells predominate at this time of the year.

- Tourist offer. Finally, the tourist offer here in Majorca is uncomparable, allowing visitors to select, among a wide range of hotels, that which most adjusts to their budget. Also, in certain hotels, as is the case of the Hotel Horizonte special attention is paid to sailing crews by providing specialised services such as transfers, flexible meal times, special menus.
